Double Stranded DNA

This is a dynamically generated, double strand of DNA*. It will be used in some molecular biology / genetics* illustrations planned for the site.
The strand is coiled in a double helix. Consistent with real DNA, there are 10 base in each complete turn of the helix. The base pairs are shown as rungs of a ladder. They are color coded:
  • Adenine (A) - green
  • Guanine (G) - black
  • Thymine (T) - red
  • Cytosine (C) - blue
Bases are generated dynamically. The patterns of bases along the strand will change everytime the page loads. The scaling from small to large and back to small again is built into the process that generates the strands.
